Jane has over 25 years experience in family law having specialised in this area since she qualified as a solicitor in 1997. She worked for Darbys in Oxford (now Knights plc), one of the leading firms in the South East for family work, for 12 years, before leaving to set up Selby Lowndes Solicitors in 2011.

Jane is known for her expertise in children cases, and has conducted several cases where there have been allegations of serious abuse. She often undertakes her own advocacy.

Jane is particularly interested in using non-court dispute resolution in her practice, is a trained mediator, and can offer the ‘Resolution Together, one lawyer one couple’ approach, which is gaining in popularity as clients increasingly look for more efficient and conciliatory ways to obtain legal advice and representation. For more information see NCDR. Jane also has expertise in drafting nuptial and co-habitation agreements, with the aim of preventing dispute and conflict for clients in the future.

Jane has a Bsc in Psychology and a certificate in Family Therapy, and has previously lectured in family law at the Oxford University Department for Continuing Education. Jane has wide experience of acting for clients with neurodiversity.
